Computex 08: Bigger, but not better


Today during the show we got a chance to snap a picture of a Nehalem CPU cooler and we’re sorry to report that it looks rather plain and unexciting.

It’s a fair bit larger than the socket 775 cooler to the left of it on the picture, and as you can see, the copper core is back due to the Nehalem having a TDP of around 130-135W, from what we’ve heard.

This isn’t the upcoming Intel retail box cooler, although it does look similar in terms of construction. We’ll leave the manufacturer out of the picture for now, just in case the picture would upset Intel, but it’s a fairly well-known cooler manufacturer.

So much for wishing that Intel was going to get rid of the nasty push-pins, but there’s always next time.
