But only for old GPU's
DigiTimes reports that United Microelectronics Corporation (UMC) has recieved an order from DAMMIT for some 10,000 12-inch wafers of RV505 and RV516 GPU's.
This is apparently because Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) is busy building the performance parts for both ATI and Nvidia and there's simply no more space at TSMC's fab for these low-end parts.

In a related story, UMC's profit fell by 88 per cent in the first quarter of 2007, compared to the same period last year.
