Will also move to 45nm in 2009

According to Digitimes, VIA isn't expecting to launch a dual-core version of the Isaiah/CN core until late 2009, which is indeed bad news, as Intel is expecting to have dual-core Atoms ready before the end of this year.

In all fairness to VIA, they don't have the resources that Intel has, but we really expected a dual-core version to show up sooner than the end of 2009. VIA will also be moving its manufacturing process to 45nm in 2009.

Some additional details about the Isaiah/CN has also been revealed; and it looks that at least for now it will top out at 2GHz and will come with bus speed options beteween 800 and 1,333MHz. It will also feature 2x 64kb L1 cache and 1MB of L2 cache.

Fujitsu will be making the 65nm processors on VIA's behalf and hopefully we'll see a launch at Computex next month, but this might not be the case. VIA is expecting to double or triple its CPU shipments for the second half of this year, thanks to the new CPU.
