€300 motherboard

Asus is really pushing prices these days. We checked the prices of ultra high-end Asus 790i motherboard and it costs a bit over €300. This is way too much for any motherboard, and we believe that Asus is doing what Nvidia once did with graphics cards.

They simply continue to push the prices until the high-end users say enough. As this hasn't happened, they are pushing it even further.

A very good motherboard costs around €100, while the top-end board usually costs around €200. We believe that even €200 is a bit too much for a board and we simply cannot justify spending €300 for a board. At the current exchange rate, €300 converts to $464 and you can clearly see how much these Taiwanese companies are actually ripping us off.

A €300 should justify getting a board that can cope with Three SLI and uses expensive DDR3 memory, but as we said this is simply to much.

If you still want to spend three times more than you should, you can do it here.
