We want them all

The big OEMs are getting oads of Phenom triple cores as the launch is getting closer. Dell and HP got some significant volumes, while we believe that Dell got much more Tri-core chips than the two-letter company.

AMD's triple-core is being produced as we speak and there will be a few system announcements in the next few weeks.

Everything is getting ready for the big launch, and we suspect that Cebit might be the place for it. According to one of AMD’s Vice Presidents, triple-core is still on scheduled for Q1 launch, while dual-core should follow in Q2 2008. This is what we’ve heard from some top-notch AMD guys back in January, and the plans haven’t changed.

We believe that AMD needs faster clocked dual-core Phenoms more than anything now.
