DistreeXXL: All IT suffers
Many sectors of the IT industry have suffered due to the weak adoption of Vista. The memory market failed to see it, and this affected just about everyone.
The graphics "boys" didn’t suffer that much, as their product can support both, and the hard drive industry will also gain with Vista, as this resource-greedy system will simply need more space.
The most common theme among the EMEA business people was that Windows XP service pack 3 performs better than XP and too many people knows about it.
The Vista is getting adopted mostly on the notebook side, as you really don’t have a choice, and you simply have to buy a notebook with Vista pre-installed. The alternative is Linux, but end users are usually not that knowledgeable to want to deal with the command line and something different from Windows.
Let's hope that Vista will take off in 2008.
