Powercolor has launched its HD 3870 X2 card and has decided to stick to the reference design and clocks.

Powercolor HD 3870 X2 will work at reference 825MHz for the core, or better yet both cores, since we are talking about a dual GPU card. The 1GB of GDDR3 memory will work at 900MHz clock with dual 256-bit memory interface, one for each core. The only difference is the Powercolor's sticker placed over the cooler, but the rest is based on the reference design.

The new card supports DirectX 10.1, Shader Model 4.1 and PCI-Express 2.0. According to the press release, this card will be bundled with iClone 2 software which "transforms any desktop into a complete virtual movie studio." According to the press release, you can create 3D character, scenes and special effects for films inside a 3D real-time environment.
