Intel promises more personal Internet Print E-mail

will have a personal Internet within five years, Intel boss, Paul Otellini, has claimed.

Speaking at the Consumer Electronics Show, Otellini said that the development will be possible thanks to an evolution in mobile devices. Otellini thinks mobile devices could soon "augment reality" by pulling data from the Internet in real time.

Devices would be location-aware, and would access the Internet over Wimax wireless connections. To do this the world needs a ubiquitous, wireless broadband infrastructure that will cover the globe in wireless broadband connectivity.
