Maingear, one of the top system integrators in the U.S., is the first manufacturer to announce PCs based on AMD's new Spider platform.

The new platform will be used in its Dash Friends and Family PC series, F131 gaming machines, and EPHEX luxury gaming systems. The machines will use the new Phenom processors, HD3800 series graphics and AMD's 790FX chipset. The company also plans to offer the new Phenom on AMD 690G chipsets, too.

The Spider platform uses the latest AMD technology available: the 65nm Phenom native quad core CPU, 55nm HD3800 GPU and AMD's top of the line chipset, the 790FX with CrossfireX support.

Configurations featuring the Phenom processor are immediately available starting around US$1,000 for the Dash Friends and Family PC, and around $2,000 for the EPHEX luxury gaming PC.
