7900 / 7800 Xtreme got its price


On the second day of September Intel finally introduced two Core 2 Extreme processors to market and at the same time decided to cut some prices.

The faster one, X7900 which works at 2.8 GHz and has 4 MB cache and unlocked multiplier, will cost $827 at launch while the X7800, the slower version that works at 2.6 GHz, will drop in price but Intel is not ready to tell how much it will cost.

The second version of the same chip, Core 2 Duo X7800 non extreme edition, clocked at the same 2.6 GHz, will cost $505. 

In the mean time T7700 at 2.4 GHz will drop from its previous $515 to $307 while T7500 with its 2.2 GHz clock and 4 MB cache will drop from $307 to $234.

T7300 remains at its $234 price but T7250 the 2 MB version of the 2.0 GHz chip will be introduced at $195.
