Star Trek Online growing faster than expected |

Over 1 million registered user accounts and counting
Developer Cryptic Studios has to be beaming with excitement as the release of their latest MMO, which is none other than Star Trek Online, has already attracted more than one million registered users in just one week since its release.
While publisher Atari does not come right out and say that they are surprised at the speed at which Star Trek Online is growing, it is attracting users at a rate that likely was not anticipated. Trekkies of all types seem to be flocking to Star Trek Online to give it a try.
The issue, as with any MMO that starts off so strong, is to keep the momentum going; but it is possible that while the game is attracting the typical MMO audience, it is also attracting fans of the Star Trek series, which may give this MMO a survivability edge over other MMO releases.
