Can cost even 46€

A friend of ours just purchased Lenovo's notebook with preinstalled Vista and since we know that Microsoft gives free upgrades to Windows 7, we have advised the chap to do so.

So, allegedly free Windows 7 home upgrade will cost you at least €17.32 and this is the price to cover shipping and handling. Lenovo warns that if customs and import charge occurs, you will have to cover that.

If you want to ship the DVD to a country out of euro-zone, you will have to pay €27 or similar and in some countries as much as €46.

“Free” Vista upgrade is valid until January 31st and then it might be over for good. You can learn more and upgrade here but for this Chinese company "free" ended up costing much more than anyone thought. Ironically, the shipping of the whole notebook costs some €3.5.
