Development already in progress for some time

Despite all of the cagey responses from the Nintendo brass, our sources are now confirming that an effort to bring a new chapter to the Zelda franchise has already been in development for some time. According to our moles, the official announcement and first showing of the new Zelda title for Wii is slated for E3 in June, with a release scheduled for the holiday season of 2010 if all goes well.

According to our sources, the Wii version has been in development for a bit longer than anyone would care to admit. The MotionPlus technology will be included in the new title and will play a central role in the control of the game in many ways, according to our sources.

While we don’t yet know what Nintendo will be calling the latest Zelda title, we do know that the development process is pretty far along and far enough to say that it will make the fall release schedule next year, as they are in pretty good shape at this point. Of course, Nintendo will confirm nothing, but unless they will not make the slated release for next year, we think you will see it at E3 in June.
