For upcoming Pineview products

Acer has reportedly ordered ION 2 chipsets from Nvidia and plans to use them in upcoming Pineview-based products.

According to Digitimes, Acer will use the chips in new netbook and notebook designs, based around Intel's N4xx and D5xx/4xx processors. Nvidia refused to comment the reports, so the deal is anything but official at the moment.

Acer is the world's top netbook maker and it has also gained a foothold in the nettop marked. Although Pineview coupled with ION 2 sounds like a rather nice platform, we would really like to see ION 2 chipsets in CULV-based thin-and-lights, rather than netbooks.
