Hong Kong
police are investigating a Facebook group which apparently called for a mass suicide.

We all know that there is no shortage of nuts nowadays, but the fact that 190 people joined the group is still mildly surprising. The group apparently planned to take a one way trip to the happy hunting grounds on December 21. They must have messed up the date a bit, as most apocalypse nuts believe the world will come to an end on December 21 2012.

Police are now trying to locate former members of the group who participated in a discussion on possible suicide methods and asked their friends to join the group. Chinese media claim photos of a girl trying to kill herself at school were posted on the site as well.

Encouraging suicide is punishable with up to 14 years in prison under Hong Kong law, not that prison is much of a deterrent for people trying to kill themselves.
