Preliminary iSupply numbers

It doesn't take a rocket scientists to figure out that AMD, apart from its graphics business, hasn’t been doing so great these past few years, and last year saw the company slip to 12th place on the top semiconductor supplier list. This year however, iSuppli’s preliminary numbers show that AMD meant business as they’re back and ranked 9th, which isn’t too shabby.

Of course, a lot more needs to be done to even come close to Intel, which proudly sits on top of the list, but as long as they’re getting there. Closely following Intel are Samsung and Toshiba, ranked second and third respectively.

AMD isn’t the only company to have climbed up the ladder, the others being STMicroelectronics and Hynix, but the only company that's expected to achieve revenue growth is second ranked Samsung.
