Beware: No Battlefield Bad Company 2 Beta registration yet

News reached us today that was confirmed by the powers that be at Electronic Arts and DICE that there are some Emails circulating that are seeking people to sign up and register for the upcoming Battlefield Bad Company 2 Beta. This is pretty hard to do, since no official beta yet exists.

The Email invitation that is circulating is a fake. These emails appear to be a phishing attempt to gain information; and the URL that the Email points to is also shady. EA and DICE have their corporate security team investigating the situation.

So, unless you read the information concerning an official beta for Battlefield Bad Company 2 on the company’s official Twitter page, it isn’t real. As for any hint whether an official beta is coming, our sources have been unable to confirm what DICE’s game plan might be for an official beta going forward. Given the situation with the phishing Emails, however, it is likely if they do an official beta they will do it carefully to make sure that people know that it is, in fact the real deal.
