Includes over two
hundred bug fixes
Nvidia recently
released its first desktop drivers to support the OpenCL standard, beginning with Geforce
195.39 beta. These drivers are dated October 27, 2009 and feature improved SLI
and multi-GPU support for several recent popular titles and include over 200
various bug fixes.
In particular, the drivers add support for the OpenCL 1.0 specification
on all Geforce 8-series or later GPUs supporting CUDA. The drivers also add
support for CUDA
Toolkit 3.0, which will be made available to developers sometime within the
next few weeks.

Nvidia has officially included SLI support for Borderlands,
Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, G-Force, FIFA Soccer 2010, League of
Legends: Clash of Fates, NHL 2009, Order of War, Pro Evolution Soccer 2010,
Race On, and Star Trek: D-A-C. In addition, it somehow increases SLI
performance in Champions Online and Dragon-Age: Origins.
We should point out that Nvidia has already released an SLI
support update for all of the aforementioned titles in its SLI Profile Update 3 back
on October 15th. This latest driver release will not change anything for those users
who have already applied the patch and is merely a way of distributing the SLI support to a broader audience.
The latest drivers also introduce a plethora of around 200 various bug fixes between operating systems. After a brief skim through the release notes,
some of the more significant ones include addressing a bug with the Geforce
G210 switching to 4-bit color mode, Battlefield Heroes freezing on the Geforce GTX
280, missing lighting in Assassin’s Creed on the Geforce GTX 285, frequent BSOD
crashes when exiting Far Cry 2 on the Geforce 9800GX2, and Quad-SLI not being
available on the Geforce 7950GX2 when the NV Control Panel is maximized.
Nvidia’s full release notes for Geforce 195.39 beta are made
available separately for Windows
XP, Windows
Vista and Windows
7.
