Core i5 650 might be an overclocking beast |

Reaches 4.7GHz on air
Intel's Core i5 650, a dual-core 32nm Clarkdale that should launch on 3rd of January, might be an overclocking beast, at least if you judge according to these first leaked overclocking results of the engineering sample.
One lucky guy over at Lab501 forum managed to score one Intel Core i5 650, the one that works at 3.2GHz on stock and quite easily managed to reach 4.6GHz without fancy cooling. The test bed included a Gigabyte P55 motherboard, Noctua's NH-U12P with Coolink SWIF 2 120P fan. The core voltage was raised to 1.424V, the multiplier to 25 and bus speed to 188MHz.
Of course, we are looking at an engineering sample, while the retail one will have a locked multiplier at 24. The processor was stable and managed to do Prime95 for over 30 minutes with temps of up to 77 and 68 for both cores.
In any case, the Clarkdale certainly looks good, at least those engineering samples. You can check it out here.
