Starting at €999

Last week we wrote about Acer's Aspire Z5610, which is basically an affordable 23-inch touchscreen all-in-one with a proper CPU. In fact, it is one of few all-in-ones we'd actually consider getting ourselves. In case you missed it, you can check it out here.

The entry level SKU packs a dual-core Pentium, we've also come across a couple of beefier models, powered by Intel quads. The top range version is powered by an Intel Q9400 processor, has 8GB of memory, Radeon HD 4350 graphics, TV tuner, a 64GB SSD and a 1000GB hard drive. However, at €1299 it's nowhere near as affordable as the entry level version.

The second version is a bit more sensible. It's based on Intel's Q8200, has 4GB of memory, HD 4350 graphics, 1000GB of storage, but lacks that pricey SSD. It sill ends up quite costly, and at €999 it's really no bargain.

The Z5610 should start shipping in a day or two, and while the quads sound impressive we still think the entry-level Pentium E5300 version offers much, much better value for money.
