Updated: Value mini-ITX with ION

Zotac has introduce a fresh duo of mini-ITX motherboards with the Intel Atom and Nvidia ION combo, the ION-ITX Synergy Edition series.

Both of the newly introduced motherboards are practically the same except for the fact that ION ITX-E Synergy has a single-core 230 Atom while the ION ITX-G Synergy has the dual-core Atom 330. Both feature two DDR2-800 memory slots, a PCI-Express x1 slot, DirectX 10 support thanks to the MCP79 chipset (9400M integrated graphics).

The rest of the features include four SATA 3.0Gbps ports, integrated 5.1-channel audio, DVI, VGA (with adapter) and HDMI output with digital 8-channel LPCM audio, Gigabit LAN and six USB ports on the I/O panel.

Both should appear in retail sometime next week, but we are sure that Zotac will focus its attention on the dual-core Atom 330 ION ITX-G version, as they sell a bit better. The price hasn't been announced but as we are looking at a budget series it might be priced at around €90.

Update: We managed to confirm that the dual-core ION ITX-G should be available in Europe as of next week, while the suggested price will be around €119, depending on the retailer. The single-core should come at a later date with a suggested price of €90.
