Cortex A9 in Globalfoundries 28mm process

As expected, AMD spin-off Globalfoundries has signed a broad production and optimization agreement with UK-based chip designer ARM.

Under the agreement, Globalfoundries will start a SoC program using ARM's designs produced on Globalfoundries 28nm HKMG process.

The first batch of ARM-based CPUs made by Globalfoundries will be Coretex A9s in 28mm, and they will be aimed at the mobile market.

Details are still rather sketchy, but we will try to find out a bit more over the coming days.
