Inspiron 14z and 15z

Dell has
launched two new CULV-based notebooks, but this time around it has gone big, 14 and 15 inches to be exact.

The new 14z and 15z are a world apart from the recently introduced ultraportable 11z. Unlike most CULV-books, the new Inspirons feature an optical drive and they're not as thin as Lenovo or MSI models.

However, in addition to the DVD drive, they also offer a six-cell or even nine-cell power pack option and they're sensibly priced. They should launch with Intel's new CULV dual-cores, the SU4100 at 1.3GHz and SU7300, also at 1.3GHz but with more cache. You'll get a choice of storage options ranging from a measly 160GB to an impressive 500GB at 7200rpm. You can also get discrete Radeon HD4330 graphics on either model.

Like most Dells, the new Inspirons are configurable, and you can put together the ideal spec for your needs, and best of all, you'll probably be able to get a matte screen as well. With prices starting at $599, the 15z is quite a bit cheaper than the 14z which sells for $649 in its base configuration, follow the links for detailed pricing.
