Intel roadmap: X7900 and X7800 at 2.8 GHz or slower


Intel plans
new Core 2 Extreme processors and this time its for desktop replacements that we nowadays call laptops. It plans to introduce the X7800 Core 2 Extreme version clocked at 2.6 GHz on the 8th of July while the fastest version X7900 Core 2 Extreme comes at 2nd of September.

Both CPUs will support FSB 800 and will have 4 MB of cache memory. X7800 Core 2 Extreme will cost $851 at launch and X79000 will launch with the same price in September.
