Still on launch course this year

We’ve heard some updates on AMD’s DirectX 11 generation and so far everything is looking good. AMD is still planning to release its DirectX 11 generation later this year and the launch could take place either in very late Q3, eg. September or early Q4.

This might give ATI an upper hand over Nvidia, as Nvidia’s September 40nm update is only DirectX 10.1 and its DirectX 11 might come as super high end but only in late Q4 09.

ATI is working on the entire generation and Evergreen is one of the codenames, but more details are expected in August when ATI finalizes its hardware, branding and clocks.
