ION-less, N280 and GN40

Acer has
launched an ION-less version of its Revo nettop, but it has fiddled with the spec to make it a bit different than most nettops out there.

The new Veriton packs an Atom N280 CPU at 1.66GHz, and more importantly it uses Intel's GN40 chipset with X4500 graphics with HDMI-out. In addition to the new chipset, the Veriton also packs up to 2GB of RAM in some SKUs. You can get XP, XP Pro or Vista Home Premium on it, but you're still stuck with a 160GB hard drive.

It uses the same tiny case as the Revo, but in a slightly different colour scheme. Prices start at €210, and it looks like a pretty fair deal.

You can find the listings here.
