Real time overclocking with a touch of a button

MSI has shown its next generation of OC dial, called the Direct OC. We already saw Direct OC and those buttons back when first pictures of MSI's P55-GD65 motherboard.

The new Direct OC is a hardware solution that works with OC Genie chip and provides real time overclocking. MSI made a video of the new device in action and it works quite well. All you have to do is press a button and it will automatically raise the core clock of the CPU. There is a slight delay in CPU-Z but according to the video, it happens due to the slowness of CPU-Z scan, while Direct OC works instantly.

This feature will be implemented on all MSI P55 motherboards and it is a nice add on for those that do not want to meddle around the BIOS. If you are going to do some extreme overclocking, getting your hands dirty with BIOS is a must.

You can check out the video here.
