Harmonix's Josh Randall has said that games like Rock band might leave consoles and take on the shape of instruments with built in music.

Of course, discussing ideas and putting them to practice is never an easy thing to do, but Harmonix is looking to mobile markets for solutions, as these sectors have seen incredible growth in the last decade.

He added how “It’s going to be interesting when it all splinters apart and then comes back together in some form we’ve not even thought of yet” and while we wholeheartedly agree with this, we are getting pretty bored with the linear development of this already quite populated genre. Now how about a Whiter Shade of Pale Band/Hero and a 12-foot high organ controller? (Or Braveheart Hero with bagpipes and a bundled kilt. sub.ed.)
