It’s red and black for a reason

Our friends
over at EVGA just launched their first enthusiast platform motherboard to compete in the micro-ATX market, the X58 SLI Micro (141-BL-E756) based on the X58/Core i7 platform for big performance in a compact size.

The board features all the performance and stability of what has come to be expected from the X58 SLI series lineup. It features a 6-phase analog PWM design with a single EPS 12v connector, six triple-channel DDR3 1600MHz slots, six SATA II 3.0Gb/s slots, an onboard LED for POST codes and temperature monitoring, and the same passive heatsink found on the X58 SLI LE.

As far as PCI interconnects go, the X58 SLI Micro includes two PCI-E x16 lanes for two-way SLI, a single PCI-E x1 slot, and a single 32-bit PCI 2.1 slot. Superficially, this mini board uses the same red and black color scheme found on the Classified.

The most we can say is that EVGA has definitely cooked up a solid competitor to the ASUS Rampage II Gene mATX. Currently, the X58 SLI Micro can be had for $199 directly from EVGA, and more retailers are expected to have them shortly.
