Dell officially shows its Vostro 1220 |

Business oriented 12-incher
Dell has officially unveiled its new Vostro 1220, a business oriented ultra-portable notebook. This 12.1-incher can be ordered with either Windows Vista, Ubuntu and even FreeDOS.
The new Vostro 1220 weighs 1.52kg with a 4-cell battery and features a 12.1-inch LCD screen with a maximum resolution of 1280x800 pixels. The rest of the features include a wide variety of Intel Core 2 Duo processors, all the way up to 3.06GHz T9900 with 6MB of L2 cache and a 1066MHz FSB, up to 8GB of memory, and up to 500GB of hard drive space. All of this is neatly paired up with Intel's GM45 Express chipset with Intel GMA X4500MHD integrated graphics.
It can also be equipped with a 6-cell battery and has three USB ports, VGA output, Gigabit LAN and can be equipped with optional Bluetooth 2.1, draft-N Wi-Fi and even Wimax/WiFi mini card in the US.
It won't win any design prizes, but since it is aimed at business users, looks are the last thing that Dell has to worry about.
