Might be easier to tell the good from the bad

Sony will be expanding their “Official Licensing Program” for PlayStation accessories and peripherals that are compatible with the console product line. Sony will be offering licensing programs for the PlayStation 2 and 3, as well as the PSP.

Never one to leave any money on the table, Sony will allow companies to enter into an agreement with SCE, and by doing so they will gain access to the technical documentation to allow the creation of a variety of products for the Sony series of consoles.

Sony will test the products for compatibility and make sure that they are up to Sony standards before the company is awarded the “Official Licensed Product” logo which will be displayed by products that are offered by companies under this program. From what we hear, Sony will be opening up the program a bit and offering more companies the chance to become members of this program.
