Mobile Clarksfield starts at 1.6GHz |

That's 2.8GHz with Turbo
Intel's Calpella approved, Clarksfield quad-core 45nm CPU with
eight thread support will start at 1.6GHz speed. The top one as we said before
will launch at 2.0GHz, but with the Turbo feature one core will work at up to 3.2GHz.
Clarksfield is a mobile version of Lynnfield quad-core and
they are both based on Nehalem 45nm architecture. In case of Clarksfield
1.6GHz, this one will be able to overclock one core to 2.8GHz, but its amount of
cache will be limited from 8MB available for the 2GHz version to 6MB for the 1.6GHz
version.
The launch time is Q3 2009, and when it comes to pricing, this
CPU should enter the market between $316 and $530 and most likely it should be
closer to $500.
At first Calpella will concentrate on the more expensive notebook
market, as it has to have a discrete graphics chip and with a quad-core with 45W+
TDP, you won’t get much battery life. A battery friendlier Calpella will launch
in Q1 2010 with Arrandale IGP integrated dual-core.
