Geforce 186.03 WHQL goes online

Nvidia has issued an update to its notebook driver package that support Geforce mobile notebook GPUs under Windows Vista and Windows 7, the new WHQL certified Geforce 186.03 for notebooks.

The new driver supports Geforce 8M, 9M, 100M and 200M-series notebook GPUs, adds support for CUDA 2.2, expands GPU hardware acceleration for Nvidia's Video Encoding library to GPUs with less than 32 cores, adds Ambient Occlusion support for the mentioned GPUs and features a bunch of other bug fixes and performance improvements.

The noted performance improvements include up to 25 percent in The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena, up to 45 percent in Mirror's Edge when antialiasing is enabled, up to 22 percent in Crysis: Warhead, and some other improvements in Fallout3 and Far Cry 2.

The new driver package is available only for Windows Vista and Windows 7 users and can be downloaded here.
