Q3 launch

Intel plans to launch both P55 and Lynnfield, quad-core Nehalem based CPU in Q3 and possibly boost its back to school sales. There is a strong indication that the fastest clocked CPU might run at 3GHz or similar speed.

Intel plans to introduce Core i7 950 clocked at 3.06GHz in June time, and a few month later Intel should also launch its first batch of Lynnfield probably at similar frequency. The pricing of these two CPUs could be very similar and Intel is still not ready to disclose if Core i5 will be the final brand for Lynnfield.

Lynnfield currently looks like Core i7 with dual channel memory and there is nothing much exciting expect that the price should be better than Core i7's.

This CPU will be the part of performance market, while in Extreme market Core i7 975 will remain lonely, probably for the rest of 2009.
