Dial-up users get rolling, it’s 290MB

Two weeks ago we wrote about Microsoft’s plans to release the anticipated Service Pack 2 for its Office 2007 suite. The company has remained steady with its announcement and has just made the release available from Windows Update and its support site.

The update comes in at a heavy 290MB and requires a restart upon installation. According to Microsoft, Service Pack 2 includes a rollup of all Hotfixes, Cumulative Updates, Security Updates, and Public Updates released through February 2009. The company has conveniently uploaded an Excel change log of the list of fixed issues, which can be found here.

The Microsoft Office Sustained Engineering Team wasn’t kidding when it stated the service pack included some “significant work.” The update file can be found in Windows Update or directly from the support site here.
