AMD didn't change the date

Despite the rumor that is floating around the net, AMD didn't change the launch date for its first 40nm HD 4770 card. According to our info, the card is still scheduled to launch on 28th of April and the first Futuremark benchmarks and picture leaks are a normal thing as these happened before, with almost every new card launch.

The rumor stated that the NDA was lifted and that performance numbers and benchmarks will start appearing pretty soon. According to our info, nothing like that came from AMD, and the date is still set for 28th of April, at least for now. People at AMD simply denied this rumor, and the card is still under wraps. Some retailers have listed the card, but those were just some isolated cases.

The card will launch with a US $99 price tag, and it has a quite good performance for that price point. The card should perform almost as well as the HD 4850, and the only bad thing is the looks of the cooler, as its performance is pretty decent. AMD had to cut some corners to make it a US $99 card, and in any case non-reference cooled HD 4770's should appear sooner or later.
