Had 13 criminals as friends

A 27-year-old
prison officer was sacked after it was discovered that 13 of his Facebook friends were in fact criminals.

Nathan Singh, who worked at HMP Leicester, has some quite colorful among his Facebook friends, including murderers, thieves and drug dealers, scum of the world basically.

During a disciplinary hearing, Singh said he knew the lot from school or football games. "Sometimes when I logged on to my Facebook site there would be twenty-odd friends requests and I just accepted them," said Singh "Sometimes I didn't even check them. I realise now it might have been naïve in the job I do."

However, it was also found that Singh had phoned at least seven of his 13 criminal mates in the past year.
