Graphics cards for the budget minded consumer

XFX has announced its new Core Edition series of graphics cards that will be oriented at budget-minded consumers. The lineup will include the new GTS 250 in both 512MB and 1GB versions, as well as GTX 260 and 9800 GTX+ graphics cards.

This new Core Edition series will apparently bring lower prices, but according to what we could see at our price search engine that is still not happening, as you can find a Zotac GTX 250 1GB card for the price of XFX's GTS 250 512MB card. This will probably change when XFX manage to ship more of these cards to different retailers/e-tailers but for now it's still not happening.

The interesting fact is the choice of the cards that will be a part of this new series as the "new" GTS 250 is nothing more than the cost-down version of the 9800 GTX+, so having both of those cards in the same series just sounds weird, but we're pretty sure the 9800 GTX+ won't stick around for long.

In any case you can find the GTS 250 cards listed here.
