Asustek reportedly planning yet another reorganization |

5 to 10 percent of staff could go
According to a company official, Asustek is planning its reorganization this year, but details are quite sketchy.
Apparently the company is still in the process of planning the
reorganization, and the plans are still far from finalized. An unnamed
source in the company is quoted by Reuters as saying that the number of
departments could be halved, from six to three, and that 5 to 10
percent of the workforce could be laid off. Reportedly, the company plans to merge its Eee PC and notebook departments.
This would be the company's second reorganization this year. Back in
January Asustek halved its number of departments in an effort to
streamline its operation.
