Cutting costs

Digitimes reports that Intel’s cost reductions have, among other things, resulted in canceling IDF Taiwan 2009. The Intel Developer Forum was scheduled for November, and this will be the first year without it since 1996, when it was first hosted.

The report also claims that April’s IDF Beijing 2009 will be a one-day event, as opposed to the earlier plan of two days. As much as Intel wants to cut costs, it seems they’re not keen on letting one of the fastest growing markets go just like that.

IDF San Francisco will of course remain whereas the Taiwanese will have to settle for Intel’s Computex presence.
