Xbox 360 doubles last year’s sales

Microsoft is reporting that they have crossed another milestone in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) territories with the news that they had their most successful Xbox 360 holiday season ever and have crossed the 8 million mark in EMEA.

The news that the Xbox 360 has crossed the threshold of 8 million in EMEA gives the company a little over a 1 million console lead over Sony’s rival PlayStation 3. Microsoft believes that the price reductions and exceptional bundles for the EMEA market space give the company an edge over its competitors.

The news is good for Microsoft who has struggled a bit outside of the North American market space; but in recent months the company has been winning a lot of gamers over with an exceptional selection of first-rate titles and at a price point that has really put the console in play in places like EMEA.
