Still no price wars

Nvidia
is about to launch GTX 295 its dual GT200b 55nm card and ATI still didn’t made any drastic move on the prices. Sapphire HD 4870 X2, the cheapest card listed in EU, is now selling for €400, while we expect that Nvidia GTX 295 to sell for at least €450.

It doesn’t look that ATI is ready to drop the price as the price was around €400 since the launch f this dual RV770 card. It will be interesting to see if ATI will eventually drop the price of HD 4870 X2 card as this will be a very good indication of Geforce GTX 295 sales.

As far as Sapphire and the rest of ATI partners are concerned, the price stays and in USA you can get this card for under $500 especially after some mail in rebates.

You can check the Sapphire HD 4870 X2 here EU or here USA.
