B for Business

AMD plans to launch new quad, tri and dual-cores, all for business customers, as obviously, the company had some success with its recently launched Athlon Business series.

The quad-core will be known as AMD Phenom II X4 B90 series, tri-core is Phenom II X3 B70 series, while dual-core is AMD Athlon X3 B20 series and the last number will depend on the clock of the CPU.

They will launch in Q3 2009 and they will replace Phenom X4 9000 (Quad) and 8000 (Triple) B series that are out now. They are all AM3 based, but they work in both AM2+, DDR2 motherboards or DDR3 based AM3 motherboard.

The platform that is planned to fully support them is codenamed Kodiak.
