During the Taiwan IT Month consumer show

Although we've written about Asus' Bamboo clad notebooks a fair few times, it seems like the first now is now finally set to launch this weekend, during the Taiwan IT Month, which is a consumer retail show that starts in Taipei and then moves to three other locations in Taiwan and runs for one week in each of the locations.

The first Bamboo notebook to launch is the 12.1in model and it will be part of the U6V-series of notebooks from Asus. Although no specific details of the configuration of the first model has been released as yet, the pricing is expected to be NT$59,900, or US$1,799/€1,390.

We'll head over to the IT Month when it kicks off tomorrow and try to get you the full details of what's on offer for that fairly steep price tag. The only things we know for certain is that it'll come with some kind of a Core 2 Duo processor and Windows Vista beyind the base system specs.
