This is a temporary one

A few sources close to AMD have confirmed that the Foundry Company is only a temporary name and that the new company will get a new name in 2009.

We couldn't find out what the name will be, but we know it won't be known as The Foundry Company for much longer. The Foundry is AMD's effort to get profitable, but these manufacturing guys are off for a tough start due to the worldwide economy crisis and the fact that it’s very tough to survive in the manufacturing business.

The Foundry Company also has to find some clients apart from AMD to keep the business running and we think it might be a while until the former AMD fab finds some really big accounts.
