Too many followers

Too many
people were signing up to follow Prime Minister Kevin Rudd's short text message updates on Twitter that his new page on the social networking site crashed.

Rudd’s spokesman said that the Aussie Prime Minister had 670 Twitter followers, but he lost most of them when the page crashed due to high demand. Rudd has been trying to do an Obama and has engaged in a high-tech arms race to win the hearts and minds of switched-on Australians.

But it has not gone exactly to plan. He sent an email to all his supporters informing them of his new Website, KevinPM.com.au, which includes links to MySpace, Facebook, a new YouTube account, a Flickr photo sharing page and his newly created Twitter page for broadcasting short snappy text messages.

When Twitter crashed he lost all his followers, because the social networking site can't handle so many.
