Overclocked and with GDDR4

Powercolor is the first ATI AIB partner to announce an HD 4850 card that will feature GDDR4 memory, the Powercolor PCS+ HD4850 512MB GDDR4.

As a part of Powercolor's PCS series, this card will feature Professional Cooling System, courtesy of Zerotherm, and will be factory overclocked. The card works at 675MHz for the core and comes with 512MB of GDDR4 memory clocked at 2,200MHz. This is a nice boost from the reference 625MHz for the core and 1,986MHz for 512MB of GDDR3 memory.

The card features Powercolor's design on a regular red PCB, a 256-bit memory interface, and support for CrossfireX, DirectX 10.1 and two DVI connectors. Unfortunately, the price and the availability date are still unknown, but we suspect that it will hover around the €150 mark, at least in Europe.
