Activision claims problem limited in scope

As we told you yesterday, many of those that purchased the new Guitar Hero: World Tour were complaining about issues with sensitivity of the drum kit. Today, Activision has acknowledged the problem and claims that the problem is limited in scope to those drum kits in the first production run of the product.

To resolve the problem Activision will be releasing a “drum tuning kit” to resolve these issues. The drum tuning kit will allow players to optimize their drums fully for a better experience. In addition, Activision will be doing more quality control testing to make sure that the drum kits work properly prior to being released for shipment.

Activision has suggested that players having issues should visit the customer support Web site or call the hotline if they believe that they are experiencing problems with peripherals included with Guitar Hero: World Tour.

While Activision has acknowledged the issues with the drum kit, they have not yet said anything about issues related to the guitar or cross-compatibility issues on the PlayStation 3 platform. According to our sources, they are still looking at these issues and trying to determine the existence of a problem or not with these reports.
