Snapdragon 8CX Shipping before Valentine day

Samsung is one romantic South Korean company as after months of delays it finally plans to ship Snapdragon 8CX powered Samsung Galaxy Book S and promised to deliver before February 14. All that and the promise of a 25-hour battery for video watching.

Part One: 5G 

It all comes down to a single very memorable date, February 29, 2000, which was the first time I published an international article at The Register. Twenty years and thousands of stories later, I am ready to share some of my predictions for 2020. Let me start with 5G.

Senior director confirms early 1H 2021

Two weeks ago at beautiful Hawaiian island Maui, Intel also had a bit to say about the mobile side of things. The big laptop giant went against Qualcomm’s 8CX mainly on compatibility and lack of 64-bit support, but Martyn Stroeve, senior director of technology marketing, talked a bit about 5G powered laptops.

Analysis: CTO mindset

There was a lot of discussion about Intel’s CEO's recent presentation at the Credit Suisse technology conference. Bob Swan commented that he is willing to give up the 90 percent mark share mindset. He would instead get 30 percent of all silicon market valued at $288 TAM.

Analysis: Checked his cloud iMessages

A shocking development occurred as it seems that Apple has hacked Gerard Williams’ phone, and read his iMessages. Gerard Williams’ is an ex-star CPU designed that left Apple and now works as the CEO of Nuvia.  All this to prove that Gerard was daydreaming on his job at Apple and had an idea to launch Nuvia while still at Apple.

With dedicated 7nm SoC

Qualcomm has big plans for XR. Recently, there was a lot of press that Apple is working on a new device that is two or three years ahead and could replace your phone. Qualcomm is working on that for more than a half-decade. The new Snapdragon XR2 with 5G support is the VR and XR chip you will start seeing in XR designs in late 2020 and onward.
