did you say HTML 5 is open source? if thats the case,,,, apple will successfully drown itself.. as android offers flash and will embrace html 5 soon enough..apple is to open source as taliban is to not bombing themselves..google is too synonymous with every american to not embrace its obvious advantages... if apple doesn't follow suit with android's flash etc.. it will die...hopefully

Even Adobe said themselves they were dropping flash. Frankly, its resource cumbersome and outdated. My bet is Apple will support HTML5 to a greater depth. Safari already supports it anyway to a lesser degree. On the port side, why pay for a licence for HDMI when you can drop in an ultrafast Thunderbolt port which, no doubt, will have an HDMI or USB adaptor appear in due course. Don't expect any other ports like XD either, you know they hate it when people download software onto their bits of kit. Naturally, Apple's over priced charges will apply!!

HTML5 will be for mobile while Flash will be for the PC. If I am not mistaken, I read that Flash tends to suck back battery power, where as HTML5 does not. Also HTML5 is open source I believe. Flash is here to stay regardless.

Stupid reply is stupid. Unlike those things you mention, his are actually important. HDMI is very useful, especially when your device is able to record HD video. HTML5 is the future of the web, but soooo much of the content on the web is in flash still, so it's stupid to not support it. Let the consumer choose if they want to take that battery life hit, don't make that choice for them.
